End of 2025 flexible spending account plan year is coming
Use it, don't lose it!
2025 limited purpose/medical FSA:
The limited purpose and medical flexible spending accounts have a carryover feature. This allows you to carry over $640 or less in unspent funds to the next calendar year. Anything more than $640 will not carry over to use in 2026.
Your claims for expenses with dates of service that occurred in 2025 must be filed by April 30, 2026. After that, funds exceeding $640 will be forfeited.
Please note: Carryover amounts will be deposited into a 2026 account with the new FSA administrator in the beginning of June 2026.
2025 dependent care FSA:
The dependent care FSA does not have a carryover provision, so you will lose any funds remaining in that account after the runout deadline of April 30, 2026. To avoid forfeiting any of your funds, file claims with dates of service in 2025 before April 30, 2026.
